supporting the nursing curricula

A Nursing Skills Laboratory where students learn and practice their clinical skills in one of two fully equipped Nursing Laboratory areas.

Resources include:

  • Client care units for basic and advanced nursing skills development
  • Diagnostic/clinical decision-making tools and equipment
  • Medication units
  • Special mannequins for demonstration of various procedures
  • A variety of teaching aids
  • Classroom areas
  • Laboratory assistive personnel

A Computer Center where students learn, practice and apply basic computer skills.

Resources include:

  • Access to a computer-based health care consulting system, as well as a variety of library data bases through the campus-wide computer network
  • State-of-the-art IBM and IBM-compatible PCs and peripherals
  • RN-CAT: a computerized adaptive testing program simulating NCLEX-RN
  • Computer-assisted instruction
  • Popular business applications (word processing, database management, spreadsheet and graphics)
  • A small library of current textbooks concerning clinical skills and issues, including a section referenced by the computer-based health care consulting system

An Audiovisual Media Resource Center where students reinforce classroom instruction using a variety of audio-visual resources for self-guided study.

Resources include:

  • Over 600 videotapes
  • Over 40 slide sets
  • 80 audio tapes
