PROGRAM OF STUDY

The Baccalaureate Nursing Program for Registered Nurses provides men and women, who hold a diploma or associate degree in nursing, diverse opportunities for strengthening professional practice and serves as the foundation for advanced practice. A total of 120 credits is required — 61 credits in nursing and 59 credits in liberal arts and sciences. The residency credits requirement for R.N.s is 30.

R.N.s  receive advance standing through transfer credits that can be awarded for comparable courses with a C+ or better grade.  Courses used for elective requirements may be transferred with a minimum grade of C-.  Biology and chemistry courses must be current within the last ten years.  Credit can also be earned through successful performance in challenge examinations in:

Psychiatric Mental Health

Diploma graduates may present certification in selected areas in lieu of challenge examinations. Diploma graduates upon completion of challenge examinations, and associate degree graduates receive credits for the following:
