Admission
General admission requirements are the same as those for The Graduate School. In addition, the applicant must:
- Submit a copy of the New York State Teaching Certificate or its equivalent;
- File a reference from the principal of the school in which the applicant is teaching or has taught, and a second professional reference;
- Give evidence of personal and experiential background suited
to teaching the
gifted and talented. In addition, when the College has received
all application materials,
an appointment to provide a writing sample will be arranged. This sample will identify those who might benefit from assistance from The College of New Rochelle’s Learning Support Services, available at no cost to students admitted to the program. All applicants must arrange an interview with the Assistant Dean of the Division before final acceptance.
Applicants who believe that all necessary documents have been submitted for matriculation in the master’s program should contact the program office to verify that all required documents have been received.
