We are a nation in tremendous need of highly skilled individuals who seek to devote their lives to education, particularly early and elementary education. The College of New Rochelle has a long and distinguished history of preparing graduates to teach at all levels of learning.  The programs in educational leadership seek to develop the necessary leadership qualities in students that will prepare them to be effective, motivational, and visionary school leaders of tomorrow.  The Division of Education offers programs that are designed for those who wish to enhance their professional expertise and/or complete requirements for New York State Certification.

Those students who plan to graduate in or after 2004 and apply for state certification will have to meet New York State requirements for the new certificates as provided in the new program guidelines through the graduate school. All students applying for New York State teaching or administrative certification as of February 2001 are required to take a workshop in violence prevention.
