Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools previously
attended. Student copies are not acceptable. A minimum GPA of 2.7 undergraduate
or 3.0 graduate is required;
Two completed recommendation forms submitted by school administrators, college professors or other persons who have direct knowledge of the student’s potential for success in the program.
All applicants must also show oral/aural and reading/writing proficiency in the English language by meeting current program assessment requirements. When the College has received all application materials, an appointment to complete a writing sample will be arranged. The sample will identify those who might benefit from assistance from The College of New Rochelle’s Learning Support Services, available at no cost to students admitted to the program. As applicants need to achieve a satisfactory level of performance in oral and written English on the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations to obtain certification, they should factor the attainment of such a satisfactory level of performance into their study plans.
Applicants who believe that all necessary documents have been submitted for matriculation in a master’s program should contact the Education Division Office to verify that these documents have been received. All applicants must arrange an interview with the assistant dean of education before final acceptance. As soon as applicants receive an acceptance letter from the assistant dean of education, they must promptly make an appointment for consultation with their assigned faculty advisor.
