Apply for Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid at The College of New Rochelle is easy. Just follow the instructions below:

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online or on paper. The FAFSA should be completed as close to January 1 and as soon after completing the Federal tax return as possible. It is not necessary to wait to be accepted to CNR to begin this process. The College of New Rochelle FAFSA code is 002704.
  • Complete a verification worksheet.
  • Complete a sibling confirmation form, if siblings are also attending college.

New York State will mail each student a pre-printed application for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) when he/she completes the FAFSA. This application should be completed and returned to the State. Residents of other states should check with their state's Financial Aid agency.

Other states that have aid programs that can be used at CNR include the following:

  • Delaware: State Scholarship and Grant Program -- Call (302) 577-6055.
  • Rhode Island: State Scholarship and Grant Program -- Student must attend at least part-time and have financial need; call (401) 277-2050.
  • Vermont: Incentive Grant -- Student must apply by March 1 and must attend at least part-time and have financial need; call (802) 655-9602.
State Scholarship and Grant Program -- Call (302) 577-6055.

Students should send signed photocopies of their and their parents' Federal and State income tax returns for 2008 to the CNR Financial Aid Office as early as possible. W-2 forms cannot be accepted. Student's name and social security number should be written clearly on all pages of the copy.

The Financial Aid Office will consider each student for financial aid on the basis of a need analysis of the applications for aid and income tax returns. Each student will receive a financial aid package indicating the amount of money expected from all sources. It is the student's responsibility to see that all correspondence with external funding agencies is submitted to the appropriate office so that his/her account can be properly credited.
