Assistant Dean for Support Services
The School of New Resources of The College of New Rochelle invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Dean for Support Services.  This full-time, professional staff position is available immediately.  

The School of New Resources is one of four schools of the College and we are proud of our international reputation as a leader and pioneer in the field of adult higher education.  In 2012 we celebrate 40 years of service.  The School offers interdisciplinary areas of interest in letters, social sciences, psychology, communications, and foreign languages.  We serve a diverse population of 3,000 adult learners at six campuses in New Rochelle and New York City.  Classes are offered during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends. The Assistant Dean for Support Services is a member of the Dean’s senior staff and works closely with the Dean and Campus Directors on registration, enrollment management, retention, reporting and compliance issues, and s/he will also oversee student discipline and enforcement of the student code of conduct.  The Assistant Dean will be expected to conduct non-credit, extracurricular workshops on issues surrounding civility and respect at each of the campuses on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will possess an understanding and commitment to the Mission of the College and demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal and mediation skills.  S/he must have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a diverse, multi-cultural setting serving multiple campuses, and the ability to cultivate an environment of trust, civility, and mutual respect.  The Assistant Dean must be skilled in the use of integrated software systems and proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows application software; s/he must be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects within established deadlines, and have strong oral and written communication skills.  Travel to the branch campuses and some evening/weekend work is required.

A master’s degree in social work is required; licensure and certification is preferred.  Prior professional experience with adult students is highly desirable.
