Disabilities Coordinator

The College of New Rochelle is accepting applications for a part-time Disabilities Coordinator and this position is available immediately. Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, the Coordinator is responsible for:  ensuring that the College is compliant with ADA-related mandates; obtaining and analyzing student disability documentation; notifying academic deans and other relevant staff of needed reasonable accommodations to support the academic progress of our students; and serving as a liaison between students and faculty/instructional staff. The Coordinator will also review and strengthen protocols and practices and present workshops and seminars on ADA and reasonable accommodation.

The successful candidate will possess an earned Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, guidance and counseling, or related field; and NYS licensure in Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, or Psychiatry. S/he will be knowledgeable about the ADA and all applicable laws to support students in pursuit of a college degree, have experience in serving a disabled population and the ability to work with a diverse population.  We’re looking for an individual with excellent communication skills (to include empathetic listening), leadership ability, and the ability to operate effectively within a complex organizational structure.

The College of New Rochelle was founded in 1904 as the first Catholic college for women in New York State.  Today the College is comprised of four schools and serves a population of 4,000 students at our main campus in New Rochelle and at our five branch campuses in New York City.
