Vice President for Enrollment Management
Before joining The College of New Rochelle in June 2014, Kevin Cavanagh was Senior Director of Enrollment Services and Student Information at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Before that, he served as Assistant Vice President for College Admissions at Iona College.
A two-time graduate of Manhattan College, Cavanagh received his MBA, with a concentration in management, and a BA in history, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. A long-time member of Manhattan College’s admissions team, he rose to the position of Director of Admissions and Financial Aid before moving to Iona.
At Iona (2007-2012), Cavanagh was responsible for the enrollment of traditional undergraduates, evening and weekend adult students, transfers, and graduate students.
In 2012, Cavanagh moved to Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. As the chief enrollment officer of the 19th-ranked medical school in the country (according to US News and World Report), he developed and executed a strategic plan for delivering enrollment services to meet the needs of the school, supervising the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, Health Insurance, Financial Aid, and Housing.
Cavanagh also has been a leader within the admissions industry at large, having served on the Executive Board of the New York Association of College Admissions Counseling and been elected as a State Delegate representing New York at the National Assembly of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling. He also represented both Manhattan and Iona as a member of the Catholic College Admissions Association. The Irish Echo recently recognized Cavanagh for his contribution to the higher education industry by naming him to their 2014 list of 40 Under 40.
