The finished house – 20 feet by 12 feet; wood frame; tin roof, storm windows, steel door, cement floor! Living in this house will be Don Augustin, his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons: Kevin and Armando.

With Don Augustin and his daughter-in-law, Adela. On the last day, we held a prayer service during which we asked God to bless the home and the family. We presented his family with a guava plant. The plant is one that bears fruit, symbolic of our prayers for the family. [The entire group was not present on the last day: the RN’s and two nursing students were attending a workshop at a birthing center about an hour north of Brownsville].

Standing in front of the Ursuline community center are Marie, Angela, Valerie, Bertha-Ursuline Associate in Brownsville, Silvana, Carole, and Rosie-Ursuline Associate in Brownsville. Bertha and Rosie assist Sr. Norma throughout the year at the center with various programs, such as English language classes, religious instruction for youth, and weekly exercise programs.
