ON “READING, WRITING AND GETTING PUBLISHED”

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, January 15, 2004 – Whether they write poetry, essays, novels, short stories, plays, screenplays, or magazine articles, many people have dreams of getting published.  How is reading a spiritual practice?  What are the joys and travails of writing?  How does one turn a dream into a reality?  Sister Nancy M. Malone, OSU, will address these questions at a lecture, “Reading, Writing and Getting Published:  A Labyrinthine Journey”, being held on:

Thursday, February 5, 2004
7:15 pm
Mooney Center, Romita Auditorium
CNR’s main campus in New Rochelle
Lecture and Book Signing
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Sr. Nancy will read excerpts from her book, Walking a Literary Labyrinth: A Spirituality of Reading, reveal things she never knew about writing, and discuss her own successful journey to being published.  Sr. Nancy’s book was named by Publishers Weekly among the Best Books of Nonfiction in 2003.  Before she became a full-time writer, Sr. Nancy was an editor at Religion and Intellectual Life and co-editor of Cross Currents.

Sr. Nancy was graduated from The College of New Rochelle (CNR) and obtained graduate degrees from Catholic University of America and Harvard Divinity School.   She has taught at CNR as well as Ursuline schools in Bethesda (MD) and New Rochelle (NY).
