CNR TO MARK NATIONAL STUDENT ATHLETE DAY ON APRIL 7
Blue Angels Athletics to Conduct Book Drive Benefiting Local Children

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, April 1, 2004 -- For the first time, The College of New Rochelle (CNR) will mark National Student Athlete Day with a luncheon at its Main Campus on April 7 to recognize the achievements of 38 outstanding student athletes enrolled in the School of Arts & Sciences.  The students, each of whom has maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA, represent every CNR athletic team.  The students who will be recognized include:

On the day of the luncheon, CNR’s Blue Angels athletic teams will conduct a book drive from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for new pre-school and primary school age books as their Centennial-related service project.  All books will all be donated to the Adult Learning Center of New Rochelle, an Ursuline Social outreach program, which conducts ESL classes.  The books will be used to help children in New Rochelle learn to read while their parents are learning English.
