The College of New Rochelle Graduate School
Launches New Educational Leadership Degree Program

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, August 15, 2007 – The College of New Rochelle (CNR) Graduate School will offer a new 39-credit Masters Degree in Educational Leadership with dual certification, beginning in September 2007. The program, which can be completed in two years or less, will lead to initial/professional certification at the school building level and professional certification at the school district level.  Upon obtaining the dual certification, students will be qualified to begin their administrative careers as assistant principals and principals.  As they advance professionally, they will have already earned the additional certification necessary to pursue career opportunities as district assistant superintendents and superintendents.

“This is a unique opportunity for teachers interested in pursuing leadership opportunities within their districts,” says Dr. Guy Lometti, Dean of the Graduate School. “Upon completion of this program, our graduates will be able to consider professional opportunities at both the school building and at the district level.”

Courses for this highly competitive Master of Science program will be conveniently offered in the evening and on weekends at the New Rochelle Campus. In addition, students are given the opportunity to begin the program with a group of students as part of a specific cohort.
