THE COLLEGE
OF NEW ROCHELLE TO HOST
ART EXHIBIT

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, September 10, 2003 -- The College of New Rochelle
(CNR), is hosting a solo exhibit of oil paintings by Barbara Kidd Calvano
that spotlights images of healing featuring elements of Eastern and Western
thought. The works, entitled ‘The Tandra Paintings’ which depict
different meditative states derived from sketches of female nudes, will
be on display Sept. 5 through Sept. 29 at the Bridge Gallery located in
the College’s Main Campus in New Rochelle. An opening reception is
scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14 , from 2-4 p.m. The exhibit and reception
are free and open to the public.
Ms. Calvano was graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor in
Fine Arts degree. She also attended the Art Students’ League (NY)
and the National Academy School of Fine Arts (NY). Ms. Calvano has
exhibited her artwork in solo and juried group shows throughout New York
City.
The Bridge Gallery in Mooney Center is open weekdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The first
Catholic college for women in New York State, The College of New Rochelle
was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Order. Today, it comprises the all-women
School of Arts & Sciences, and three schools which admit women and
