THE COLLEGE
OF NEW ROCHELLE RECOGNIZES
2006 SERVIAM AWARD WINNERS
NEW ROCHELLE, NY,
October 26, 2006 -- The Ursuline Institute at The College of New
Rochelle today honored four students with the 2006 Serviam Award in
recognition of their outstanding volunteer work. This award,
presented at a luncheon at the College’s annual Founders Day
celebration, was established by the Institute to honor the College’s
Ursuline founders and to heighten awareness of the College’s mission of
education for service. “Serviam” has been an important value for
all Ursulines since the founding of the Order of St. Ursula in
1535. Today, “Serviam” is the universal motto of schools
affiliated with Ursuline ministries.

At The College of New Rochelle’s annual Founder’s Day celebration,
college president Stephen J. Sweeny is flanked by the 2006 Serviam
Award winners. They include (left to right): Helene Forster,
