THE COLLEGE OF NEW ROCHELLE MARKS
YULETIDE SEASON WITH THREE EVENTS

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, December 17, 2003 – The College of New Rochelle is planning to host three special events -- open to the public -- to celebrate the upcoming holidays:

Christmas Eve Liturgy
Wednesday, December 24, 10:00 pm 
(instead of midnight) Holy Family Chapel at the College’s Main Campus in New Rochelle. This service will begin with Christmas carols at 9:30 pm.

Epiphany Liturgy
Sunday, January 4, 11:00 am

“Return of the Crèche:
Nativity Scenes from Around the World”
CNR’s Castle Gallery is once again hosting an unique exhibit of more than 100 examples of crèches from countries such as India, Indonesia, Peru, Hungary, Mexico, and the United States.  The collection was compiled by alumna Dr. Eileen Maxwell Canty ’55 and her husband from their world travels over the past two decades.  

The exhibit, on display through March 3, 2004, is appropriate for children of all ages.  It is free and open to the public.  Gallery hours are as follows: Tuesday – Friday, 10 am – 5pm, Saturday and Sunday, 12 – 4pm.  Closed Mondays and Dec. 24, 2003 – Jan. 2, 2004.  SPECIAL HOLIDAY HOURS: Dec. 27 – 30, 2003, 12 – 4pm.  For information and directions, please call (914) 654-5423.


The first Catholic college for women in New York State, The College of New Rochelle was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Order.
