How did you
hear about CNR, Kathryn?
I attended The Ursuline School in New Rochelle and heard about CNR
through the Ursuline Sisters who teach there.
Did you apply to any other colleges?
I was also accepted at Fordham University, the College of Mount Saint
Vincent, Iona College, and Manhattan College.
Why did you decide to come to CNR?
I decided to come to CNR because of the closeness of the community.
The teachers at CNR give students the individual attention needed to help
them excel. I find that here at The College of New Rochelle I am a name,
not a number.
What is your major?
I have a double major in Communication Arts and English.
Tell us, Kathryn, about some of your favorite teachers?
What I am finding is that with every course I take, I learn new things
about the subject and about myself. I don’t have a “favorite” teacher,
but my favorite “kinds” of teacher push me to be the best student I can
be.
Besides classes what are you involved with on campus?
I am a Resident Assistant in Ursula Hall, a Peer Minister for Campus
Ministry, a member of CNR Drama, and a staff writer for the school newspaper
Tatler. I also participate in the Student Theatre Ensemble, and
I am an Ambassador for the Office of Admissions. I am Treasurer of the
Student Government Association as well as a member of the SAS Honors Program,
and editor-in-chief of the Honors Program's magazine, Femmes d'Esprit.
Because the School of Arts & Sciences is a small women’s college, I
get the chance to take a leadership role in a number of different activities.
Do you have a job on campus?
As of next semester, Spring 2004, I will be a tutor for Learning Support
Services. I am currently, and will continue to be, Sacristan for the Chapel
and assist in setting up for morning masses.
Do you live on campus?
Yes, I live in Ursula Hall.
When will you graduate from CNR?
In May 2006.
