On Sunday, December 17, 2006, an opening
reception was held for the Castle Gallery's winter exhibit Racing On A Broken Road, which runs
from December 17, 2006 through March 4, 2007. The exhibit, curated by historian, artist, and photographer Betsy Braun Lane, focuses on the
contributions and struggles of some of America’s earliest patriots and
pioneers, whose heritage weds together the traditions of
African-European and Native-American descendants.

Combining her skills
as an historian, artist, and photographer, Betsy Braun Lane traces the
story of seven generations of two families
living in the Mid-Hudson, Peekskill/Cortlandt region for the past 230
years. Attending the reception were many current-day Moshier and
Peterson family members.
