Campus Director - DC 37 Campus

The School of New Resources seeks an experienced higher education administrator to head our branch campus in lower Manhattan, housed at the union headquarters of District Council 37.  This position is available July 1, 2008. The School of New Resources offers the baccalaureate degree in the liberal arts to adult learners at our six full-service branch campuses in New York City and New Rochelle.  Established in 1972, the DC 37 Campus holds the distinction of being the oldest full-service baccalaureate degree program offered at a union headquarters in the country.

The Campus Director assists the Dean in supporting the Mission of the College and the goals of the School. The specific responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and assuring adherence to all College and School policies and procedures

  • Assuring quality of faculty and curriculum

  • Supervising and evaluating performance of Instructional Staff, professional staff and support staff

  • Managing the campus budget

  • Establishing and maintaining community relationships and partnerships

  • Participating in School and institutional governance bodies

  • Working with the Dean’s staff to develop and implement recruitment programs

  • Developing and implementing successful student retention strategies

  • Collaborating on enrollment activities, including enrollment projections and trends

  • Organizing and implementing routine campus activities including orientation, registration, curriculum development, graduation, alumni affairs, recruitment and program evaluation

The successful candidate will possess the Master’s degree (the doctorate is preferred), and demonstrated management experience in higher education. S/he must be able to work collaboratively within a union framework and have the ability to lead in a complex organizational structure.  Evening and occasional weekend hours are required.  Applicants should send a letter of interest, curriculum vitae and the names and email addresses of four references who can speak to the candidate’s professional qualifications to:

The first Catholic college for women in New York State, The College of New Rochelle was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Order. Today, it comprises the all-women School of Arts & Sciences, and three schools which admit women and men: the School of New Resources (for adult learners), the School of Nursing and the Graduate School.  The main campus of the College is located in lower Westchester County, 16 miles north of New York City.  The College maintains five other campus locations in New York City.
