In response to the call of Pope Francis, The College of New Rochelle joins in a global day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria, the Middle East, and the world.

On Saturday, September 7, a prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on the main campus. All are invited to participate in this expression of solidarity with the Holy Father and our brothers and sisters around the world of all faith traditions as we unite our hearts, minds, and voices in prayers for peace and reconciliation.

The vigil will begin in the Rose Garden behind Leland Castle. Students will lead the 30-minute program consisting of a candlelight prayer walk to six campus locations where readings from several faith traditions and special petitions will be offered. Members of the Holy Family Chapel Choir and Gospel Choir will lead those gathered in song.

The Holy Father urges us to be mindful that "peace is a precious gift, which must be promoted and protected."
