Seven Blue Angels Named to All-Academic Team

Seven student-athletes from The College of New Rochelle were named to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) 2013 Fall All-Academic Team, it was announced recently by the conference office.
 
The volleyball team had five players recognized to highlight the Blue Angel contingent.  Juniors Erica Cuscina and Diana Desir are repeat honorees from 2012, while senior Tanika Charles was named All-Academic in 2011.  They are joined by junior Shamella Bartholomew and sophomore Allison Millen.
 
Sophomore Anissa Figueroa represents the cross country team, while sophomore Deanna Tozzo represents the tennis team.
 
Of the 137 student-athletes named All-Academic, 23 also received All-Conference honors in their respective sports and 50 were repeat All-Academic honorees.
 
The All-Academic Team consists of student-athletes who have reached sophomore academic standing and have earned a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or better at the conclusion of the fall semester, and participate in one of the conference's fall sports - men's soccer, men's cross country, women's soccer, women's tennis, women's volleyball and women's cross country.
