First Annual Spirit of Sweeny Award Given at CNR's Spirit Competition

In the midst of the Spirit Competition on March 16, 2011, the first annual Spirit of Sweeny Award was given to Praniece Little SAS’13.

MediaLibrary#4506The award was established in honor of our 12th President, Dr. Stephen J. Sweeny, who dedicated 35 years of exceptional service and tirelessly advocated for The College of New Rochelle. The Spirit of Sweeny Award is presented to a student who exemplifies the spirit of the President and love for the College. The recipient embodies and models CNR pride and school spirit in all that she does, and gives generously of herself to the CNR Community.

Praniece excels in the classroom and extra-curricular activities. She is President of Black Student Union, a Peer Minister, a member of the Black History Month Committee, and an active participant in Student Development’s “Open Mic Nights” where she shares her passion for poetry.

The junior class won the Spirit Competition, which pit classes against each other in challenges such as relay races, trivia, cheering, and costume competitions.
