Inaugural Liturgy Highlights College History and Honors President Judith Huntington
10/13/2011

MediaLibrary#5172The Inaugural Liturgy on October 13, 2011, was an opportunity for students, faculty and staff, alumnae/i, and friends of The College of New Rochelle to gather in prayer for Judith Huntington, who will be formally installed as the 13th President of the College on October 14.

The College’s long history was highlighted in the liturgy, through the use of a chalice which was given to the Foundress of the College, Mother Irene Gill, O.S.U., in 1929, and recently restored for use on this momentous occasion.

The chalice was given by Mary Crittenden Henry (1879-1938), a student of St. Teresa’s School on the lower east side of Manhattan, who remained a supporter of the Ursuline Sisters throughout her life.
