CNR Recognizes High School Women Artists at 18th Annual Event

MediaLibrary#5281The 18th Annual High School Women Artists Exhibition, created to offer aspiring young female artists nationwide the opportunity to showcase their two-and three-dimensional works, drew 47 entries from 16 different high schools in New York and Connecticut.

On November 6, 2011, the exhibition closed with an awards ceremony on the Main Campus of The College of New Rochelle.

This year’s winners were:

First Prize: Natiana Greenspan, The Hackley School
Second Prize: Lauren Klarsfeld, Ardsley High School
Third Prize: Caroline Eicher, Pelham Memorial High School

The show, which included work in acrylic paint, photography, charcoal, pencil, clay, mixed media, and oil, also presented Juror’s Choice Awards to: Emma Knox from The Hackley School; Katie Colford from Convent of the Sacred Heart;and Julie Shanus from Rye Country Day School.

The judges were: Judith Weber, artist, founder of Media Loft and president of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts; Jesse Sanchez, artist and president of the New Rochelle Art Association, and  Kenise Barnes, curator and owner of Kenise Barnes Fine Art in Larchmont.
