Freshman Guard Alyssa Pechin Collects HVWAC and AD3I Accolades

MediaLibrary#5469Freshman Alyssa Pechin has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) women's basketball Player of the Week for the second time, and Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. She also earned a place on the First Team All-HVWAC.

Pechin led the HVWAC in scoring (19.3 ppg), three pointers (39), free throw made (107), and in steals with 3.9 SPG.  Alyssa scoring average ranked her 19th in the nation and her 3.9 steals ranked her 13th.  Pechin earned HVWAC Player of the Week twice this year and HVWAC Rookie of the Week four times.

The College of New Rochelle guard Alyssa Pechin has been selected as the HVWAC Basketball Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.  The freshman from Yonkers, NY had a tremendous week averaging 31.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 steals in a pair of losses to York and Purchase.  Pechin’s week was highlighted by a 38 point effort against Purchase – the highest single-game tally in the conference this season –where she also shot 13-of-17 from the charity stripe, pulled down six rebounds and swiped six steals.
