Sunny Skies for 41st Annual Strawberry Festival

Students, faculty, staff, and the greater community enjoyed a sunny Strawberry Festival Sunday, May 5, on Maura Lawn.

The 41st edition of the annual event featured a giant slide, a rock wall, music, food, puppet shows and crafts for the kids, and more. Student groups danced, sang, and cheered on stage.

The Strawberry Festival, introduced to The College of New Rochell in 1972, is the single largest event organized entirely by the College’s undergraduates. The concept of the Strawberry Festival originated in the Midwest during the 1890’s as an American festival celebrating the ripening of strawberries, the blooming of lilacs, and the coming of summer.
