Religious Studies Requirements
Major
The major in Religious Studies, which results in a B.A. degree, requires 36 credits, which include the following:
REL 123 Religious Elements in Life
REL 122 Introduction to the Bible
REL 125 Foundations of Christianity
REL 242 Morality and Sexuality
or
REL 246 Religious Dimensions of Peace and Justice

Each major’s program is designed in consultation with the department chairperson. Independent study is encouraged to develop the student’s research skills and depth of knowledge in certain areas.

Minor
The minor consists of 18 credits, which ordinarily include the following:
REL 123 Religious Elements in Life
REL 122 Introduction to the Bible
REL125 Foundations of Christianity
REL 242 Morality and Sexuality
or
REL 246 Religious Dimensions of Peace and Justice.
Six additional credits may be chosen from Religious Studies offerings.
