Important Information on Influenza/H1N1
As reported in the news, Influenza A H1N1 has become a public health threat, and many colleges and universities have already identified cases on their campus.  It has also been recommended that we prepare for the upcoming flu season. The College of New Rochelle is committed to promoting a safe and healthy campus, and it is extremely important for everyone to be mindful of good health practices at this time.

In order to assist you, the Health Services Office has compiled recommendations for preventive measures based on educational and government agencies.  For those students, faculty or staff who develop symptoms and become ill, the Health Services Office will track reported incidences according to Public Health guidelines.  The New York State Public Health Department has instructed that Public Health officials be notified of the incidence of Influenza A H1N1 and Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) among college members to evaluate circumstances at each school should further interventions be needed.  Therefore, all students, faculty, and staff who become ill need to submit an Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Reporting Form as soon as symptoms appear.

Specific guidelines have been developed for students in each school (SAS, SN, SNR, GS) and for Employees.  We also have prepared self-care practices for those who become ill.

For those who would like additional information, we have compiled Resource Links about the flu.  As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Health Services office at (914) 654-5311 or healthcenter@cnr.edu.
