Prayer and Spirituality

Prayer Fellowship Group
When read with faith and understanding, the Bible serves as a source of personal inspiration, a guide for a good life, an answer to questions, and a contact with God. Our campus Prayer Fellowship Group builds on the rich tradition of Christian communities who continue to find comfort, guidance, and values in the books of the Bible. Join in the discussion every week in the Campus Ministry Office. I'm Interested!

Mission Service Project [more]
MediaLibrary#1471The Mission Service Project is an ongoing commitment of the CNR community to help people in need in the United States and in varied places throughout the world. Members of the divisions and schools of the College serve on the MSP committee and meet regularly to continue guiding the College community in serving our sisters and brothers whom we encounter on our yearly Plunge Service Trip. Much needed assistance has been made in the past to impoverished populations on the US/Mexico border, the West Virginia and Kentucky Appalachians, Hale House in New York City, Guatemala, and New Orleans. I'm Interested!

Fall Semester Social Justice Series

Hunger Banquet
MediaLibrary#903The Hunger Banquet
is a unique activity raising awareness about hunger. It engages participants in a dramatization of the unequal distribution of resources and wealth in the world, thereby educating individuals on world hunger facts as well as ways to combat this global tragedy. CNR’s Hunger Banquet, which is outlined by Oxfam America, takes place during the fall semester, alternating with the Sleep Out and Stuck in Traffick.

Sleep Out
MediaLibrary#864The Sleep Out is a unique opportunity for the CNR Community to spend a night outside sleeping on Maura Lawn to discuss, think, and learn about homelessness, in order to raise awareness and advocacy. CNR’s Sleep Out, which is outlined by the National Coalition for the Homeless, is the major fall semester event for Campus Ministry's CNR Pax Christi Chapter, in lieu of the Hunger Banquet and Stuck in Traffick.

Stuck in Traffick: A Human Trafficking Event
MediaLibrary#865Stuck in Traffick was developed by the CNR Peacebuilders chapter and premiered in October 2006. A slide presentation showcases the global crime of human trafficking. Participants are encouraged to write to their congressional representatives immediately following the program at advocacy tables set up by Government Relations. Stuck in Traffick is the third in the fall semester social justice series.
