Integrating our faith with other activities of life is a constant challenge. To help expedite this element of the journey, students are invited to join the Campus Ministry staff, CNR staff members, and Ursuline Spiritual Directors for The Busy Student's Retreat - "Finding and Following Your Spiritual Path," October 31 to November 3, 2011.
The retreat experience is seen as a temporary withdrawal from daily life and is designed to empower the individual to discern his/her relationship with God. This retreat takes place over four days, on your campus, in the midst of your everyday life. Students are asked to pre-register for the retreat with a Campus Ministry representative from your campus.
Students from all campuses, all schools, and all faith traditions are invited to participate.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
- An online quiz completed prior to Monday, Oct. 31.
- Daily prayer and/or reflective writing (20 minutes daily)
- Group meeting for prayer and fellowship over dinner on the New Rochelle campus on Thursday, Nov. 3; transportation will be provided
- Optional offerings: confession, daily mass with Fr. Joe Flynn, College Chaplain
WHERE DOES THIS TAKE PLACE?
- Retreatants will meet daily with a Spiritual Director for 30 minutes. The meeting is set up at the student retreatant's convenience and can take place face-to-face, over the phone, or via Skype.
WHAT IS A SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR?
- A Spiritual Director guides the retreatant in responding to God in order to grow in intimacy and to live out the consequences of one's relationship with God.
HOW?
-
With the help of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the guidance of a Spiritual Director, you will be led to grow in spiritual awareness by finding and following your spiritual path. During a short meeting each day at your convenience, you will discuss your progress and reflect on the meaning of your gifts.
