CNR MERIT SCHOLARSHIP AND AWARDS


THE COLLEGE OF NEW ROCHELLE recognizes superior academic achievement through a variety of scholarships.  Based on grades, rank in class, SAT scores** and extracurricular activities, academic scholarships, range from $500 to full tuition.  The College also offers awards to students who have contributed their time and energy to community and volunteer service, as well as other school-related activities.

You don't need to fill out any additional forms to be considered for scholarships or awards, because all students applying for admission are considered. Recipients are notified shortly after their acceptance. It's that simple!

Presidential Scholarship
Full Tuition


Student must:

  • Rank in top 5% of class
  • Have combined SAT of 1250 or better
  • Have GPA of 92 or better


Brescia Award
$18,000


Student must:

  • Rank in top 5% of class
  • Have followed a college preparatory curriculum


Honors Scholarship
$19,500


Student must meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • Rank in top 10% of class
  • Combined SAT of 1150
  • Have GPA of 90 or better and combined SAT not below 1000


Academic Scholarship
$16,000

Student must meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • Rank in top 20% of class
  • Have combined SAT of 1050 or better
  • Have GPA of 90 or better


Service Leadership Award
$14,000


Student must have:

  • Strong record of community service and/or activities
  • Good academic record


Terence Cardinal Cooke Memorial Scholarship
$2,000 - Full Tuition

Students must:

  • Be graduates of Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of NY
  • Have combined SAT of 1050 or better
  • Have GPA of 90 or better


The Cook Scholarship
$7,000

Student must meet at least three of the following:

  • Be a member of the National Honor Society
  • Be a resident of a state other than New York
  • Be a graduate of a private or parochial school
  • Have a combined SAT of 1000 or better
  • Have a GPA of 85 or better


Ursuline Award
$10,500

Students must be:

  • Graduates of Ursuline schools who rank in the top 30% of their class


Art Scholarship
$4,000-12,000

Students must:

  • Major in Art
  • Submit a portfolio
  • Show artistic ability and academic promise


CNR Scholar's Award
$12,000


Are:

  • Available from most academic departments
  • For students with good academic records


Nursing Leadership Award
$11,000


Students accepted to the School of Nursing and meet at least two of the following:

  • Rank in the top 30% of their class
  • Have combined SAT of 950 or better
  • Have GPA of 85 or better


Ahern Family Scholarship
$2,000-Full Tuition

Student must:

  • Be a resident of Broome County, NY or
  • A student who graduated from a high school in Broome County


Tatler Scholarship
$500-3,000

For students interested in joining the CNR student newspaper—The Tatler— can apply for this award.  To be considered, students should submit a Tatler Scholarship Application (available in the Office of Admission).



Transfer Scholarship
$1,000-Full Tuition


Students must:

  • Have a GPA 3.0 or better
