Class of 2008

“I decided to attend CNR because of its strong nursing program. I was attracted to the College because of its small and charming campus. Also, I wanted small classes where everyone knew everyone else. I wanted a college that made me feel comfortable. When I found CNR, I found a real home. This school is like one big happy family.”

Tell us something about your interests, and your family, and where you are from?
I am the second of five children.  My older sister is a junior at Richard Stockton College in New Jersey and one of my brothers is a senior in high school. I live in the southern New Jersey town of Mt. Holly. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, working with special needs children, traveling, clogging, and what I especially love is participating in Bible study classes on campus.

Why did you decide to enroll at The College of New Rochelle?
I decided to attend CNR because of its strong nursing program. I was attracted to the College because of its small and charming campus. Also, I wanted small classes where everyone knew everyone else. I wanted a college that made me feel comfortable. When I found CNR, I found a real home. This school is like one big happy family.

Do you have any favorite teachers?
There are a lot of great teachers here at CNR. My writing instructor is a good example.  Professor Tenser has taught me many things other than just improved my writing.  She is a wonderful teacher who cares about her students and is helping us to contribute to our community and society in positive ways.

Do you have a job on campus?
I work in the computer lab in the Mooney Center. I also have a job off campus as a Water Safety Instructor at the nearby New Rochelle YMCA.

What are your career plans?
I am going to specialize in special needs nursing, and I hope to become a nurse practitioner. I also want to be involved with medical missions overseas in developing countries where there is such a need for health care. I want my life to be a positive influence on others and The College of New Rochelle is going to help me achieve my dream.
