STUDENT-FACULTY RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
Incoming freshmen are invited to apply for our new Student-Faculty Research Scholarships, initiated in Fall 2004. Recipients of these scholarships work with a faculty member in their major to develop and conduct a research project over the course of the academic year.
Participation in this program enables students to develop a variety of skills and the expertise needed to carry out research projects on an advanced college level. Participants become involved in all aspects of conducting research in an area of special interest. In addition, the program includes activities such as attendance and participation in undergraduate research conferences and seminars, field trips to area research facilities, and networking with professionals in the student's field of interest.
This is a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to gain experience that will provide valuable preparation for graduate study and/or entrance into the professional world. This award is worth $3000 and is renewable each year upon the agreement of the faculty member and the student.
