Kathleen S. Mannino is a Reference Librarian and Assistant Professor at the Mother Irene Gill Memorial Library, New Rochelle Campus.
She, along with a colleague from the Library of Congress, co-authored "A Case for Integration of Interlibrary Loan and Reference," which was published in the December 2012 issue of Journal of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery & Electronic Reserve and presented at the 44th Annual Colorado Interlibrary Loan Conference at Colorado Springs in April 2013.
Kathleen's presentation, "Technology Tools and Universal Design: A Librarian's Quest for Access for All," at the 2012 Westchester Library Association Annual Conference highlighted her experience and research in technology and library access to patrons with physical disabilities. She completed an American Library Association (ALA) and Association of Specialized & Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) Online Continuing Education Course in Fall 2012, titled "Improving Library Services to People with Disabilities." Her use of pedagogies and learning supports such as differentiated teaching, multi-sensory, and active learning approaches have been effective in her Library Instruction sessions and successful in teaching Research and Information Literacy, a credit-bearing course for the School of New Resources.
At The College of New Rochelle, Kathleen serves on two College-wide committees, the Resources, Equity, Accessibility and Learning Committee (REAL) and the Retention Initiatives Committee, and is the Chair of the Gill Library's Information Literacy Committee. Kathleen also is the President of the Westchester Library Association, 2014-2015.
