The College of New Rochelle

Technology at The College of New Rochelle is defined as the way in which information such as data, text, voice and video are delivered electronically through digital or analog communication systems.

Technology planning at The College of New Rochelle is firmly rooted in the mission of the College which states that "its primary purpose is the intellectual development of persons through the maintenance of the highest standards of academic excellence and educational growth. As we look to the future we need to effectively integrate the use of technology into our programs to provide students with the resources, convenience, and the communication tools they need to become active participants in an evolving global community.

In this context, technology is a tool that will assist the entire College community in maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence and educational growth. Technology, therefore, will be used to enhance communication and collaboration through its:
1) integration into the teaching-learning paradigm
2) utilization as a communication vehicle both internally and externally.

In order to accomplish these goals, the Technology Plan at The College of New Rochelle has several purposes:
1) To look at institutional (those not confined to one school or area) technology needs
2) To enumerate the steps necessary to provide the technological infrastructure needed at the College
3) To give direction to the specific planning efforts of the four Vice Presidential and five Deans' areas.
