ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS & MERIT AWARDS (c) Fall 2001      The College of New Rochelle recognizes superior academic achievement through a variety of scholarships. Based on grades, rank in class, SAT scores and extracurricular activities, academic scholarships range from $500 to full tuition. The College also offers awards to students who have contributed their time and energy to community and volunteer service, as well as other school-related activities. REVIEW SCHOLARSHIP/ AWARD CRITERIA Presidential Scholarship Brescia Award Honors Scholarship Academic Scholarship Service Leadership Scholarship With Honors Service Leadership Award Terrence Cardinal Cooke Memorial Scholarship The Cook Scholarship Ursuline Award Art Scholarship Departmental Scholarships Nursing Leadership Women's Leadership Scholarship Ahern Family Scholarship Tatler Scholarship   Transfer Scholarship     Presidential Scholarship Full Tuition Top 5% of Class Rank Combined SAT of 1250 or better GPA 92 or better     Brescia Award $8,000 Students who rank in the top five of their senior class and have followed a college preparatory curriculum.       Honors Scholarship $8,000 Must meet at least two of the following: Top 10% of Class Rank Combined SAT of 1150 or better GPA 90 or better       Academic Scholarship $8,000 Must meet at least two of the following: Top 20% of Class Rank Combined SAT of 1050 or better GPA 90 or better   Service Leadership Scholarship With Honors $6,000-$8,000 Students must demonstrate outstanding contribution to school or community and must meet at least two of the following: Top 20% of Class Rank Combined SAT of 1050 or better GPA 90 or better       Service Leadership Award $3,000-$5,000 Strong record of community service and/or activities Good academic record       Terrence Cardinal Cooke Memorial Scholarship $2,000-Full Tuition Graduates of Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of NY Combined SAT of 1050 or better GPA 90 or better       The Cook Scholarship $7,000 Must meet at least three of the following: Member of the National Honor Society Resident of a state other than NY Attend a private or parochial school Combined SAT of 1000 or better GPA 85 or better       Ursuline Award $4,000-$6,000 Graduates of Ursuline schools who rank in the top 30% of their class       Art Scholarship $3,000-$5,000 For students majoring in Art Based upon artistic ability and academic promise Applicants must submit a portfolio       Departmental Scholarships $3,000-$5,000 Available from most academic departments For students with good academic record       Nursing Leadership $3,000-$5,000 Students accepted to the School of Nursing and meet at least two of the following: Rank in top 30% of class Combined SAT of 950 or better GPA 85 or better       Women's Leadership Scholarship $3,000 Rank in top 30% of class Demonstrates exceptional leadership       Ahearn Family Scholarship $2,000-Full Tuition A resident of Broome County, NY, or a student who graduated from a high school in Broome County.       Tatler Scholarship $500-$3,000 Students interested in joining the CNR student newspaper--The Tatler--can apply for this award. To be considered students should submit a Tatler Scholarship Application (available from the Office of Admissions).       Transfer Scholarship $1,000-Full Tuition GPA 3.0 or better
