Guidelines for
Use of the Library Instruction Room by
Non-Library Faculty and Staff
back to request forms
The primary purpose of the
Library Instruction Room is to provide a
hands-on learning experience for CNR
students in how to search the Library
Catalog and Subscription Databases. Because
the opportunities to provide this service
are to a large extent dependent on the
schedules of both teaching faculty and the
librarians, it is extremely important that
the use of the Library Instruction Room for
purposes other than library instruction not
interfere with the Library Instruction
Program.
It is, therefore, requested
that non-Library Faculty and Staff who
require the use of a computer-equipped
instruction room contact Academic Computing
Services (ACS) to request the use of a
computer instruction room in the Mooney
Center prior to requesting the use of the
Library Instruction Room.
In the event that a computer
instruction room is not available elsewhere
on campus, the following procedures must be
followed for reserving the Library
Instruction Room by non-Library Faculty and
Staff:
-
Contact Gill Library with
as much advance notice as possible
regarding the day, date and time that
you wish to use the Library Instruction
Room. If possible, have at least one
alternate date.
-
Complete
the
Gill Library Online Request Form for Use
of the Library Instruction Room by
Non-Library Faculty & Staff
(Paper form available at Gill Library
Reference Desk.)
-
If the instructor is
unfamiliar with the Library Instruction
Room computer system, it is necessary to
schedule an orientation session with a
Reference Librarian prior to use of the
Room.
-
On the day that the
Library Instruction Room is to be used,
arrive at Gill Library at least fifteen
minutes prior to your scheduled time to
assure that the system is ready for use.
If
you have additional questions regarding the
use of the Library Instruction Room, contact
Mark Haber, Coordinator of Library
Instruction at
mhaber@cnr.edu
or at x.5491 or x.5342.
