studio art

The Studio Art Major is fundamental to everything we do. This major sets goals for thorough job preparation, including the development of both general and specialized studio art skills. But technical skill is only part of the artist's tools. She needs critical understanding of world cultures, history, and stylistic movements ..conceptual understanding of aesthetics, philosophical and social issues, and critical perspectives ...practical understanding of the logistics of an art career ...personal understanding of the role and needs of a woman in the arts...and a developed sensitivity to the role of the arts and the artist in a vastly diversified, multicultural, global setting.

Take a look at our studio facilities, including our state-of-the-art computer lab.
