Storytelling Across the Media

Students in this class have worked to understand how different media shape the stories they tell.

At the beginning of the course, they proposed a non-fiction story which they were interested in briging to an audience. They then wrote a feature print article on that topic. Afterwards, students worked in groups to produce short video stories about their topics. Finally, the students have created web pages that are featured here.

Keep in mind: this class focuses on the content presented, rather than design. For many students, these are the first web pages they have created. By comparing their work in print, video, and on the web, students begin to understand how each medium shapes their stories.

A technical note: In order to watch the videos our students have produced, you must have the QuickTime player installed on your computer. To download and install this player, please click here.
