Dr.
Judy Gordon
is Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Social Work Department.
She earned her M.S.W. from the University of Michigan and her
D.S.W. degree from the Graduate Center at the City University
of New York (CUNY). Dr. Gordon's teaching draws on her more
than 15 years of experience in community mental health and domestic
violence. She is particularly interested in international social
work and in issues of new immigrants. She was recently awarded
a Fulbright Grant to conduct research in Mexico. As an active
member of NASW's Women's Issues Committee, Dr. Gordon has played
an important role in organizing workshops and conferences focusing
on this theme.

Dr.
Nancy Gonchar
has over 25 years of direct practice and administrative experience
in health, mental health and college student counseling, with
an emphasis on services for women, children and families.
She earned her M.S. degree in social work from Columbia University
and her D.S.W. from Yeshiva University. Throughout her professional
career, Dr. Gonchar has presented at professional conferences
and joined professional advisory boards for non-profit agencies.
She has published several articles related to college students
and to social work education. Dr. Gonchar was recently awarded
a Millenium Grant from the Council on Social Work Education
related to student supervision in grassroots agencies.

Dr.
Nilda E. Hernández
is Associate Professor of Social Work. She earned her M.S.degree
in Social Work from Columbia University, and her Ph.D. degree
in Clinical Social Work from New York University Shirley Ehrenkranz
School of Social Work. She is a New York State Certified Social
Worker and a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work.
She has over 20 years of direct practice experience providing
individual, group, family, and play therapy to children and
families, and has administered clinical and residential community
mental health programs. She conducts workshops, and makes conference
presentations in the areas of child welfare, cultural diversity,
child and adolescent clinical practice, play therapy, and parenting.
Dr. Hernández is a member of the Violence Prevention
in Multicultural Communities Grant and the Title VI Grant: Human
Rights Project.
