CNR to Partner with Doyle Regarding Ansel Adams Museum Set
December 8, 2017
CNR is partnering with Doyle auctioneers to find a new home for the College’s Ansel Adams Museum Set, which will allow the public to have greater access to enjoy this unique collection of photographs by the noted artist. Spanning Adams’ entire career, the set of 75 images includes all of the artist’s best-known work. The set was donated to CNR in 2012 by Caryl Horwitz, a former faculty member at CNR.
The upcoming auction marks the first time an Ansel Adams Museum Set is being offered with the permission of The Ansel Adams Gallery and the artist’s grandson, Matthew Adams.
During an evaluation of CNR’s assets last year, the museum set was identified as an asset that if sold would further support the College’s restructuring plan. The College is grateful to the Adams estate for their support in the process.
More information on the auction, including a full statement by Mathew Adams, is available here.
