Holmes Scores Player and Rookie of the Year Honors

It’s been a great season for softball outfielder Victoria Holmes SAS’20, the talented freshman at The College of New Rochelle. She was recently named Player and Rookie of the Year by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and selected to the All-Region squad as an Honorable Mention for the Metro Region by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). On top of those honors, she was nominated for HERO Sports Newcomer of the Year in Division III Softball, a nationwide contest with the winners chosen by fan votes.
Holmes, a native of Franklin, Virginia, made an immediate impact for CNR during their 2017 campaign. She ranked first in the NCAA with a .607 batting average and .660 on-base percentage. She was also in the top five nationally in RBI per game and ended the season with three home runs, 44 RBI, 13 doubles and 46 runs scored.
