Later, three alumnae were honored with the Angela Merici Medal for exceptional loyalty to Church and the College and distinctive achievements in their careers: Andrea Mazzari Berzolla SAS’63, Susan Conte, OSU SAS’73, and Theresa Fitzmaurice Powderly SAS’83. Twelve alumnae received the Ursula Laurus Citation in recognition for their outstanding leadership and generous devotion to furthering the high ideals and rich traditions of Urusline education: Edwina Kearney Hassi SAS’58, Jan Van Valkenburgh Murphy SAS’58, Darby Callahan SAS’63, Beatrice DiFazio Foley SAS’63, Laudelina Martinez SAS’63, Anne Murphy Yankoupe SAS’63, Katherine Watts Atterberry SAS’73, Sara Furlong SAS’73, Jeanne Whelan DeMarzo SAS’83, Michelle Laub Rubin SAS’83, Eleanor Fitzpatrick Smollen SAS’83 and Paule Joseph SAS’08. After enjoying a delicious buffet lunch, classes spent the afternoon electing new class officers and posing for their class photos before Mass in Holy Family Chapel. The celebration was capped off on Saturday evening with dinner in the Castle Parlors for the Class of 1968, while other classes enjoyed dinner on the patio at Patsy’s on the New Rochelle waterfront. With another reunion weekend in the books, alumnae departed to return to their homes both near and far having made many new memories to cherish for years to come.
