Clubs and Organizations

The College of New Rochelle is home to a host of student organizations, offering opportunities to explore your interest, make new friends, and discover new talents.

Anime Club

The CNR Anime Club brings together students who are interested in Japanese animation and pop-culture. The club also hosts anime-themed social events on campus for the entire CNR community to enjoy.

Annales

Annales is The College of New Rochelle yearbook, which preserves the memories of each school year. Yearbooks are sold during the spring semester.

Art Club

The CNR Art Club holds workshops, game nights, and other events that gather together students interested in the visual arts.

Black Student Union (BSU)

BSU is dedicated to implementing diversity programs and events on campus. Its signature event is the Evening of Elegance, which includes dinner, dancing, and a fashion show.

Blue Angel Cheerleaders

The Blue Angel Cheerleaders are dedicated athletes who come together to promote school pride and school spirit. They cheer at all home basketball games, numerous campus events, and the New Rochelle Thanksgiving Day Parade. Contact: jjbutler@cnr.edu.

CNR Commuter Club

The CNR Commuter Club organizes events for the commuter student population and represents this population’s student experience within the campus community.

CNR Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an organization dedicated to eradicating poverty housing and homelessness from our local community and around the world. This group partners with Habitat’s local affiliate in New Rochelle at Restore on Main Street.

CNR Model UN

This group seeks to tackle international issues and develop students' abilities in discussion and critical thinking. Members prepare throughout the academic year to participate in the annual National Model United Nations Conference.

Gospel Choir

The Gospel Choir gathers singers of various musical experiences and ethnic backgrounds to celebrate music and spirituality through the rich tradition of gospel music. With songs ranging from inspirational spirituals to contemporary gospel tunes, the choir strives to share the Good News of gospel music with diverse audiences, leaving them joyful, hopeful, and filled with spirit. The choir performs on various occasions throughout the year and is included in the signature events of the College’s Music Ensembles.

LAWS

This club seeks to unite the Latino population on campus through respectful dialogue on social, political, and academic challenges, thus creating an environment of support and enrichment to advance the Latina/Latino population to succeed in college. The Cervantes Dinner Dance held during the spring semester is LAWS’ signature event.

Phoenix

Phoenix Magazine is a literary and photography arts publication. This magazine is compiled with literary and art pieces from current students and alumni and displays the creative talents of those in the CNR community. Phoenix staff also holds events to recruit and showcase these works throughout the academic year. 

Science and Math Society (SAMS)

SAMS encourages student exploration in the scientific and mathematical fields. The club holds study sessions for CNR classes and the MCAT exam, and organizes trips, speakers, and seminars.

SGA

The Student Government Association supports all of the CNR clubs and organizations throughout the year. The SGA serves as the principal student governance body and represents the student body at a host of College events and off-campus programs.

Spectrum

Spectrum seeks to encourage members of the College community to discuss the politial and personal aspects of diversity issues, including but not limited to body image, gender and sexual minorities, mental and invisible illnesses, physical disabilities, racism, and sexism. Spectrum also works toward acceptance and the understanding the dignity of the human person. The group's signature event is Ally Week.

Student Nurses' Association

The College of New Rochelle Student Nurses Association is part of the National Student Nurses' Association that mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance. As a college organization, they plan and execute events centered around their field of study while providing the College Community with important information. Annual events include breast cancer walks and blood drives. 

Tatler

The College of New Rochelle issues a student-run newspaper that addresses on- and off-campus news stories, current events, reviews on movies, the arts, and more. All students are welcome to submit and propose items for future issues of the paper.

Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Class

The class organizations provide a voice for their respective student population. The organizations implement co-curricular programming for students whil fundraising for future senior year events.
