Dean's Welcome

Dr. H. Michael Dreher, Dean of the School of Nursing

Greetings from the School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions at The College of New Rochelle, founded in 1976. I am proud to be appointed as the School's sixth dean.

The College of New Rochelle is a great place to begin or continue your nursing education. Just 30 minutes from Manhattan, with easy access to all that New York City offers, we are a quiet, picturesque campus (with a Castle!) where the art and science of healing and health promotion is at the core of every nursing program we offer. Our focus on holistic health is the foundation for our undergraduate and graduate programs. We are a co-educational school and we use some of the finest health care institutions in the world for our clinical placements for all our nursing programs.

Coming from my long tenure at Drexel University, I was able to develop and implement many innovative, high-quality, market-driven nursing programs. My aim at the CNR School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions is to work with our talented faculty to innovate even more as our nursing students prepare themselves for many diverse roles in the rapidly changing health care environment. If you are looking for a place that teaches not just skills, but healing; if you are looking for a small learning environment where your well-being is central to our mission; if you are seeking a school on the move, then maybe this is the place for you. It sure is for me.

I am always honored to talk to prospective students if you are interested in a dean's point of view. But everyone in our Admissions Office and School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions are here to make your application, enrollment, and matriculation here one of the most important decisions you will ever make - where do I educate myself?

So please consider what The College of New Rochelle School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions has to offer ... Wisdom for Life is what we call it.

Regards,
