Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master's Certificate Program

This program is designed for professional nurses who hold a Master's of Science degree in Nursing. The Nurse Practitioner certificate is 30 credit hours and 600 clinical hours, over six semesters of part-time study.

Program of Courses

These courses provide the scientific foundation and clinical knowledge and skill to support advanced practice nursing. The purpose of these courses is to support the integration of content of pathophysiology and psychoneuroimmunology, health assessment and pattern appraisal, as well as clinical practice and decision making.

  • NUR 749 - Advanced Pharmacology 3 cr.
  • NUR 748 - Advanced Pathophysiology 3 cr.
  • NUR 751 - Advanced Health Assessment 3 cr.
  • NUR 756 - Advanced Health Assessment Lab 1 cr.
  • NUR 758 - Genetics/Genomics 1 cr.
  • NUR 759 - Palliative Care 1 cr.
  • NUR 771 - Clinical Practicum I: Family Nurse Practitioner 6 cr. - 3 cr. theory, 1 cr. seminar, 2 cr. practice/200 hours
  • NUR 772 - Clinical Practicum II: Family Nurse Practitioner 6 cr. - 3 cr. theory, 1 cr. seminar, 2 cr. practice/200 hours
  • NUR 773 - Clinical Practicum III: Family Nurse Practitioner 6 cr. - 3 cr. theory, 1 cr. seminar, 2 cr. practice/200 hours
