A celebration at the beginning of each new academic year is held at our offices in Bresica Hall. Food and drink are shared as the Peer Ministers and professional staff welcome students to active participation in our community of faith.
Creche Blessing and Tree Lighting
Advent is observed at CNR with special blessings of the outdoor Nativity and a specially-lit Christmas tree outside the Castle on Chidwick Walk. Carollers lead everyone in song as hot chocolate, cider and Christmas cookies warm up the December night air.
Roses in December
The lives of four American women who were martyred in 1980 while working with the poor in El Salvador are remembered each year at CNR on December 2 -- Ursuline Sister Dorothy Kazel, lay missioner Jean Donovan, and Maryknoll Sisters Ita Ford and Maura Clarke.
Feast of St. Angela Merici
The College community gathers for prayer at a Eucharistic Liturgy to celebrate the life of Angela Merici, the founder of the Sisters of St. Ursula, on (or near) the St. Angela's feastday, January 27. Following mass, Campus Ministry hosts a traditional Italian feast. Recipients of the Student Service Award, a national award sponsored by Ursuline Educational Services, are recognized during the luncheon.
All members of the College Community are invited to partake of some food and comraderie.
