Recognition for The College of New Rochelle

U.S. News and World Report: 2015 College Rankings

The College of New Rochelle has been ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the Top Tier among regional colleges and universities in the north for 2015. Ranking are based on 16 areas identified by U.S. News and World Report as indicators of academic excellence, including input measures that reflect a school's student body, its faculty and its financial resources, along with outcome measures that signal how well the institution does its job of educating students. 

President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

Seal of The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor RollThe College of New Rochelle was named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for six consecutive years since 2010. Launched in 2006, the Honor Roll is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement.

More than 3,300 students from all four schools performed 171,760 hours of community service. Community service activities noted in recent years have included Sonia Kovalevsky Math Day for High School Girls, coordinated by students in the School of Arts & Sciences; the Children's Summer Program facilitated by education students in the Graduate School; service trips to the Dominican Republic by graduate art therapy students; as well as environmental cleanup, trips for disaster relief, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, teaching English as a second language, and more.

Washington Monthly: 2015 Top 10 Master's University

The College of New Rochelle is ranked among Washington Monthly magazine's 2015 Top 10 in New York and Top 100 nationwide among Master's Universities.

Washington Monthly rates schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).

School of New Resources: A Best Practice Institution

The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning, in its 1999 Benchmarking Study, identified the School of New Resources at The College of New Rochelle as one of six "best practice" institutions.

In these six colleges and universities, "CAEL found the most comprehensively effective practices in serving adult learners," according to the executive summary of the study. "These colleges and universities offer inspiration and lessons to other institutions that strive to serve the fastest growing population of college students today."

CAEL is a national nonprofit that seeks to expand learning opportunities for adults.
