Prior to joining the CNR faculty, Susanna Killourhy spent over 44 years as a registered professional nurse at Montefiore Medical Center's Einstein-Weiler Division, working in the maternity department. Caring for others has always been an important part of who she is. She loves being a nurse and takes pride in my profession. She appreciates all aspects of maternity nursing; whether it is assisting in the delivery room, teaching a new mother how to care for her infant, or comforting a grieving family through the loss of their child.
She is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and has received numerous certifications including NCC Certification in In-patient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) and American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP).
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Mercy College Honor Society, and received the Joan Bilder Award for Nursing Excellence in Obstetrical Nursing in 2005.
Having recently retired from her nursing position, she can now dedicate her time to her maternity nursing students in the clinical area and in the classroom at CNR.
