Rosa Parks Campus to Open in New Location in January

December 11, 2017

As the College’s Rosa Parks Campus in Harlem marks the 30th Anniversary of the naming of the campus for the famed Civil Rights activist, final preparations are being made for the campus to open in its new location in January. The new, high-tech,  21,000 square-foot campus at 313 West 125th Street, just one block from the Apollo Theater, will occupy four floors, providing significantly expanded space.

“The College of New Rochelle has long demonstrated a commitment to making higher education accessible through its establishment of campuses throughout New York City and in Westchester. In opening this new campus facility, we are furthering that commitment and providing Harlem area residents with a contemporary space in which to advance their education,” says Dr. Dorothy Escribano, Interim President of the College.

The Rosa Parks Campus will continue to offer the College’s adult undergraduate degree program through its School of New Resources with plans to expand program offerings in the future to include both nursing and graduate programs.

The College first began offering its bachelor’s degree program for adults in Harlem in 1981. In the nearly 40 years since, more than 5,000 women and men have earned their college degrees through the Rosa Parks Campus. Previously located within the Studio Museum in Harlem, the campus was forced to relocate due to the upcoming renovation of the museum, after which adequate space would no longer be available for CNR.
